I’m very excited to share images from a recent photo shoot, the result of the vision and collaboration of Gwendolyn Tundermann, a fabulous photographer who happens to be my studio mate. When I first suggested working together on a photo shoot to get images of some of my newest designs, Gwen got it in her head to shoot in the Anza Borrego desert, a couple hours inland from San Diego. I had never been there before, but Gwen scouted out the location and discovered a dry lakebed surrounded by mountains – the perfect setting for a dramatic and desolate shoot. Since two gowns we chose for the shoot are not your typical wedding gown colors, we wanted a more avant garde look.
We got to the location just as the sun was setting, and I almost despaired of getting any decent shots, but Gwen was not dismayed in the least. She and her husband Matt functioned like a well-oiled machine, setting up flahes and all sorts of equipment to adapt to the constantly changing light. The result was. . . well, I’ll let the images speak for themselves!
Our lovely models are Chloe and Stephanie, who not only make my gowns look simply fabulous, but also brought their own unique dramatic flair and personality to the shoot. Kelsey Lynn Doonan crafted their makeup, and their looks were complimented by some lovely jewelry pieces by Megan Reynolds of Flawed Perfection Jewelry Many thanks to all who helped make this possible!
