exquisite wedding gowns and custom bridal couture by San Diego designer Danielle Marie Berg
collection: art moderne
inspiration: Claude Monet
materials: french lace, tulle, silk georgette
colors: white, ivory
This whimsical gown will make you feel like you are floating on a bed of roses . . . literally. As a part of my Art Moderne collection, the gown is inspired by Claude Monet, who loved to spend hours painting in his gardens at Giverny. Just as the impressionist artists sought to capture the elusive effects of light, the layers of lace, tulle, and flowers create an effervescent and dreamy effect. The sheath is made of exquisite french lace with a scalloped sweetheart neckline, slender spaghetti straps, and a silk sash at the natural waistline. From the waist down a sheer tulle overlay bubbles out and is gathered back in with two dozen roses hand sewn from silk satin georgette. The tulle train can be bustled up out of the way.
