This fanciful gown is inspired by the art of Henri Mattise. The bodice is decorated with horsehair spirals and curves, reminiscent of Matisse’s graceful line drawings and decorative motifs. Striking black horsehair accents are also used in the sash and a decadent bow, calling to mind the ascot scene from My Fair Lady. Alternatively, the gown can be made with white horsehair for a more subtle effect. The two tiered skirt is a modern twist on the ball gown silhouette, with an outrageous train / bustle that detaches easily for the reception.
